Should I Get a Credit Card After My Bankruptcy?

Oct 10

Yes, probably. Credit reporting agencies, like TransUnion, advise us that it is good to have a credit card, even a secured card, even if you do not use it. Doing so will increase your credit score. Having a credit card is also important if you are traveling or are anywhere without case.

Do not get a credit card if you are going to use it for things you should not, or if you will be incurring charges you cannot pay off quickly. Remember, the bankruptcy helped you get rid of those debts and your fresh start will be best served by not incurring them again.
